LEAFS BEAT OILERS

The Leafs pulled out a 4-3 win against the Edmonton Oilers last night. The Oilers jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after one period getting goals from Selanne and Tkachuk and outshooting the Leafs by a 12-6 count.

Thirty seven seconds into the second period, Dave Babych would score his first goal of the season on the power play to cut the lead in half to 2-1 but, in the closing minutes of the period, Selanne would score his second of the game to restore the 2 goal lead after 2 periods.

Half way through the third period, Paul Macdermid would make it a one goal game again as Jan Ingman would feather a beautiful pass for a tap in. That must have given the Leafs a lot of confidence as one minute later, Sailynoja would tie the game on a giveaway by the Oilers in their own zone. Despite being outshot badly in the third period, by a count of 21-12, Pasin would score the winning goal with 3 minutes left in the game and the Leafs would steal the win away from the Oilers by a score of 4-3.

The Leafs will have a day off before playing at home against the Devils. Can the Leafs make it two in a row? Only time will tell.
