The Toronto Maple Leafs are off to
the Wales Conference finals. They made that
emphatically clear early in this game, not letting
the Flyers gain any momentum from their Game #5
victory. Toronto set an NFHL record with 3
goals in 9 seconds in the first 5 minutes of the
game, then got a Glenn Anderson goal to close out
the first period with a 4-0 lead. Philly got a bit
closer with 2 goals in the 2nd period thanks to
Ville Siren and Hakan Loob, but Shawn Burr got one
of those back to make it 5-2 heading into the 3rd
period. Pierre Turgeon scored his 1st of the
playoffs in the 3rd period but that is the last of
the scoring for the Flyers for this season.
They will now join 20 other teams on the golf course
and watch the final four go at it for NFHL
superiority. Toronto will head home and get
ready for the Buffalo Sabres.
