Penguins Fall to Panthers. Set Up For Huge Clash With Rangers. 

Not the result the Penguins were looking for. With just 5 games remaining, they play the New York Rangers 3 times and whoever wins that series will likely earn the final playoff berth in the Wales. Here's this games recap;

In the 1st period, the Penguins opened the scoring at 1:52 when Donnelly scored his 3rd of the season from Podein and Joseph to make it 1-0 Penguins. Then at 7:11 then Panthers tied the game 1-1 when Hawerchuk scored his 32nd of the season from Sinisalo and Murphy. The teams entered the 2nd period tied 1-1. 

In the 2nd period, it was all Florida as they scored 4 unanswered goals in a period where the Penguins were unable to find the back of the net. Sinisalo and McClelland each scored for the Panthers, while Messier scored twice to give the Panthers a commanding 5-1 lead heading into the 3rd period. 

In the 3rd period, the Penguins made it 5-2 at 3:43 when Zalapski scored his 16th of the season from Malakhov and Keskinen. That's was a close as the Penguins could get in this one. The Panthers added another at 19:47 when Murphy scored his 7th of the season with a powerplay goal. 

6-2 would be the final in this one. Next up, the Penguins will have a day of rest before they play the New York Rangers in Pittsburgh.
