Short-handed Penguins Tie Flyers. Earn Much Deserved Days Off.

The Penguins found themselves playing one of the best teams in the Wales without several of their best players. To come out with a tie is seen as a win. Here's the game recap;

In the 1st period, both teams traded chances in a scoreless period that saw the Flyers outshoot the Penguins 9-5. Off to the 2nd.

In the 2nd period, the Penguins opened the scoring at 1:04 when Lumme scored his 5th of the season from Kypreos and Reid. The flyers again outshot the Penguins, but the Penguins took their 1-0 lead into the 3rd period.

In the 3rd period, the Penguins made it 2-0 at 5:26 when Reid scored his 8th of the season from Kypreos and Zubov. At 12:44 the Flyers finally got on the board when Brown scored his 10th of the season with a powerplay goal from Sydor and Lindros. Then the Flyers tied the game at 16:37 when Brown scored his 2nd of the game from Leclair and Lindros.

The 3rd period would end and the teams would enter overtime tied 2-2. After an extra frame that only saw the teams muster 3 shots between them this one would end in a 2-2 tie.

Next up, the Penguins will have a couple of days of rest before they play the Flyers again, but this time in Philadelphia.
