Penguins Smother Flames. Get Much Needed Win to End Skid. 

Boy oh boy after jumping off to a great start, the Penguins found themselves having lost 6 of their past 8. A date with the Flames cured their woes. Here's the game recap;

In the 1st period, the Flames opened the scoring at 1:54 when McIntyre scored his 2nd of the season from McInnis and Roberts. The Penguins tied the game at 16:39 when Leveille scored his 4th of the season with a powerplay goal from Keskinen and Malakhov to make it 1-1. The teams would enter the 1st intermission tied. 

In the 2nd period, the Flames recaptured the lead at 2:16 when Beukeboom scored his 5th of the season from Allison and Buchberger. At 14:42 the Penguins once again tied the game at 2-2 when Jagr scored a powerplay goal from Keskinen for his 10th of the season. Then at 19:28 Jagr scored his 2nd of the game from Kovalev to take a 3-2 lead. The Penguins entered the 3rd period with their 3-2 lead. 

In the 3rd period, the Penguins turned things up offensively as they scored 4 straight goals to make it 7-2. Keskinen, Lumme and Kovalev all scored for the Penguins with Kovalev scoring 2 goals. The Flames added one more at 18:28 with a powerplay goal from Buchberger. 

7-3 would be the final in this one as the Penguins will now have a day of rest before taking on the Ducks.
