Penguins Win Again. Slay The Giant That is The Red Wings Thanks to Burke and PK. 

Well this was a wild one where the Penguins really showed some grit and determination by climbing back and getting a big win. Let's recap;

In the 1st period, the Red Wings opened the scoring at 14:51 when Bellows scored his 2nd of the season with Wilson and Savard picking up the assists. 1-0 Red Wings. That's how the first would end, with the Red Wings outshooting the Penguins 14-5. 

In the 2nd period, the Red Wings made it 2-0 when Chabot scored his 5th of the season at 4:39 from Mogilny and Virta. The Penguins then answered at 7:58 with a powerplay goal from Joseph that was assisted by Kovalev and Kypreos. The Red Wings would restore their two-goal lead less than 2 minutes later when Savard made it 3-1 at 9:32 with Bellows and Vanbiesbrouck getting the assists. Down 3-1, Tony Amonte quickly scored back to back goals at 13:24 and 14:32 to draw the teams even at 3-3 and take a tied game into the 3rd period. This, despite the Penguins again being outshot by a margin of 13-8

In the 3rd period, the Penguins continues their comeback. At just 1:43 into the period Sergei Zubov scored his 4th goal of the season from Leveille and Malakhov to make it 4-3 and give the Penguins their first lead in this one. Then at 4:40 Jagr scored his 3rd of the season from Ramage and Malakhov to make it 5-3 Penguins. Burke would continue his strong play and after scoring 4 unanswered goals the Penguins would manage to hold on to a 5-3 win. 

The Penguins will now have a day of rest before returning to action at home against another cup contender in the Winnipeg Jets.
