Penguins Win Again! Hang 5 on Winless Rangers.

Once again, the Penguins found themselves in another game against a team they simply had to get two points from if they wanted to make the playoffs this season. On this night, the Penguins did just that. Let's recap;

In the 1st period, the Penguins came out ready to play and took it to the Rangers. At 6:05 Elynuik continued his hot start to the season by scoring his 6th of the year from Malakhov and Miller to make it 1-0 Penguins. Then, just 29 seconds later, Elynuik scored his 2nd of the game and 7th of the season from Keskinen and Ramage to make it 2-0. Then just another 23 seconds after that, Tony Amonte got in on the action, putting in his 3rd of the season to make it 3-0 Penguins. That's right, 3 goals in less than a minute. That would be all of the scoring for the 1st period.

In the 2nd period, the Rangers managed to get within 2 and make it 3-1 when May scored his 2nd of the season from Vukota at 12:07. The Penguins would counter at 15:56 as Kovalev scored his 4th of the season from Kypreos and Kyte. The Penguins would take this 4-1 lead into the 3rd period.

In the 3rd period, the Rangers would strike first at 10:41 as Smith would get his first of the season and make it 4-2. The Penguins would answer at 13:08 however, as Kypreos would score his 3rd of the season from Amonte and Kyte. 5-2 Penguins. Then at 14:19. The Rangers would manage their final pushback as Mat scored his 3rd of the season at 14:19 on the powerplay. 5-3. And that would be the final on this one.

Next up the Penguins  take on the Red Wings in Detroit.
