Penguins Crushed by Devils

This was not what the Penguins were hoping for or expected. Sure, the Devils are the toast of the Wales, but this one was a beatdown. Here's the game recap;

In the 1st period, the Devils put the boots to the Penguins scoring 4 unanswered goals. Drake, Craven, Andreychuk and Fortier all scored to give the Devils a 4-0 lead heading into the 2nd period.

In the 2nd period, the Devils continued to pour it on, scoring another 2 unanswered goals as Lemieux and Boutillier got in on the fun to give New Jersey a 6-0 lead. The Penguins entered the 3rd period trailing 6-0 and with Burke having been chased from the net.

In the 3rd period, the Devils opened the scoring with another 2 goals as Bondra and Boschman both added their own rallies to make it 8-0 Devils. At 12:10 the Penguins finally broke the shutout as Joseph scored his 3rd of the season from Tuegeon and Lumme. Then at 14:24 Zalapski scored his 4th of the season from Smith and Donnelly to make it 8-2 Penguins.

8-2 would be the final in this demoralizing defeat. Word was that the Penguins held a players-only meeting after the game, as they prepare to face the Nordiques with the same starting roster next.
