Penguins Get Back to .500 With Win Over Sharks. 

 

The Penguins finally were able to claw back to an even record this season after having dug themselves quite a hole. Here's the game recap;

 

In the 1st period, the Sharks opened the scoring at 1:10 when Smith scored his 10th of the season from Smith and Simpson to make it 1-0. Then at 19:50 Leveille scored his 6th of the season to tie things up 1-1. The teams entered the 2nd period tied. 

 

In the 2nd period, Jagr scored his 22nd goal of the season at 6:48 with Amonte and Kovalev getting the assists to give the Penguins a 2-1 lead. That would be the end of the scoring for the middle frame and the Penguins took their 2-1 lead into the 3rd period. 

 

In the 3rd period, the Penguins made it 3-1 at 2:51 when Donnelly scored his 2nd of the season from Lumme and Podein. 3-1 would be the final in this one. 

 

Next up, the Penguins will have a day of rest before taking on the Vancouver Canucks in Pittsburgh.
