With only two games remaining, the Philadelphia Flyers sit in third place in the conference with 100 points.  With both Hartford and New Jersey more than four points ahead of them and Florida sitting eight points behind, the team is locked into that 3rd seed in the Wales, and 7th overall for the entire NFHL.  That begs the question; with seemingly nothing to play for, should they rest their stars before the playoffs? We asked that question to a few from the Flyers.

  • Coach Gilbert Perrault:  "There are still things to accomplish.  We need another win to surpass last season's point total by more than twenty points. Can't give up on that now."

  • Captain: John Leclair:  "I'm chasing the NFHL goal lead.  It would be a nice feather in the cap to get don't you think?"

  • Wayne Gretzky "That's not the way I was raised.  Iron sharpens iron.  There is time for rest once the playoffs are over."

  • Lyle Odelein:  "I'm suspended for the next 2 games because a weakling couldn't take a fist to the face.  Bring on the playoffs."

In other news: With only two games remaining, the Flyers have still not announced a starting goalie for the playoffs.  Mike Richter has the better statistics. Tommy B has proven playoff success.  Hopefully the team gets this sorted out sooner rather than later.
