Rangers Fading Fast

The New York Rangers have had a rough first 40 games to the 1996 NFHL season. They sit at 15 – 21 – 4 and are the only team not to score 100 goals. A terrible offense coupled with a below average defense is a very bad combination. They are currently tied for 8th worst in the league with the Los Angeles Kings. The Rangers could easily slip down another spot or two. Add in two expansion teams and the Rangers should be looking at a top 10 draft pick in what many consider to be a fairly strong draft class. Adding a top 10 pick to  prospects like Alex Daigle, Jarome Iginla, Danil Markov, and Sheldon Souray should give fans a small glimmer of hope for the future with players like Nicklas Lidstrom, Tim Thomas, Jere Lehtinen, and Vyachelsav Kozlov on the pro team.
