Rangers Embarrassed at Home

The Colorado Rockies came to New York and gave the Rangers a beat down. The Rockies dominated from start to finish in this game. They outshot the Rangers in each period and by a wide margin of 34 – 19. They also outscored the Rangers in each period 2 – 1 with a final total 6 – 3. The Rockies were so confident that they threw their backup goalie, Murray Bannerman, out in net against the Rangers. He only faced 19 shots and made 16 saves to improve to 8-3-0. Olaf Kolzig started in net for the Rangers and had a lackluster performance to put it nicely. He is scheduled to get another start when the Rangers face off against the Florida Panthers tonight. If he falters again, expect to see Pete Peeters get a chance.
