CRACKS IN THE ARMOR???

After starting the season on a 9-0-3 run, the Minnesota North Stars have gone 1-2 in its last 3 games allowing 13 goals in the 2 losses. Very uncharacteristic of the team this year.  Some injuries have forced the team to make changes and time off for Brodeur, as well, was on the list going forward not to wear him out for the playoffs. But even on his night off, he was called into the game.

The last few games have shown management areas of the team that need to be improved upon and the backup goalie situation is a bit of a problem.  The powerplay and overall scoring is down from what GM Glenn Merkir was expecting, especially with the North Stars posting 2 of the top 3 shot getters in the league in Jody Hull now injured and Dmitri Khristich who also is tied for the league lead in goals. But, overall as a team, scoring is spread out among the depth but no one is stepping up game after game.  For sure GM Glenn Merkir has started the process of making calls to improve the team from top to bottom but at what cost still remains to be seen.

Stay tuned.
