MINNY PULLS OFF 6 PLAYER DEAL

After a huge win over the Devils a night before, Minnesota North Star GM Glenn Merkir was on the phone very quickly looking to make a deal and he found one.  Heading to Toronto is recently rumored Paul MacDermid, Petri Skriko and Bobby Dollas along with Minnesota's first round draft pick in 1997. And coming back to Minnesota were youngsters in Martin Gelina, Ted Donato, and Craig Wolanin, along with the San Jose 1st in 1995.

Macdermid was given every opportunity to establish himself as a top 4 forward in Minnesota but that never materialized.  Petri Skriko was used sparingly but found himself on the 4th line mostly and Bobby Dollas was expendable after the acquisition of Norm Maciver from the Tampa Bay Lightning.  The infusion of youth after this trade opens the doors for a lot of different line up changes and possibly more moves with so many players between the ages of 22 to 25.  GM Glenn Merkir is rumored to be after a vet forward with solid passing to help out a lackluster powerplay to date.

Many rumors heard the names of Cassells and Svehla being shopped for a more veteran presence.
