The NFHL Game of the Night

Rockies Hit 100-Goals; Win 11th in a row

The Colorado Rockies became the second team in the league, after the Winnipeg Jets, to score 100 goals this season as they crushed the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-2 to win their 11th game in a row. Brett Hull and Vincent Damphousse each had 2 goals and 2 assists, with Steve Yzerman helping the cause with a goal and 2 helpers.  Igor Lrionov and Ron Francis also scored.  Paul Broten and Brent Fedyk replied for the Lightning.  It wasn't all good news for the Rockies, though.  Peter Stastny was injured early in the first period on a dirty hit from Tampa's Mike Rathje that ended with Stastny being crunched against the boards with his arm held awkwardly against his body.  Initial reports say he may have fractured a bone in his wrist, which, while it will hamper his shooting for a while, will likely only keep him out of the line up for a week or two for swelling to go down and they can get a playing cast on it.  The Rockies are now 17-0-2 with the win, while the Lightning dropt to 8-10-1.
