The NFHL Game of the Night

Blues Clinch!

The St. Louis Blues punched their playoff ticket tonight, becoming the 16th and final team to do so for the post season celebration. And they earned it, too, by beating the might Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1 despite being out shot 32-18. Rick Tocchet, John Tucker and Shayne Corson scored the St. Louis goals and all finished with 2 points. Chris Chelios scored for the Jackets. It is St. Louis' 3rd straight win and 3rd impressive win, coming on the heels of victories over Winnipeg and Colorado.  They will finish with the 8th seed but still don't know their opponent in the first round, but given their recent play, maybe they won't be a push over in that series.  The Jackets have officially locked in the 4th seed with the loss and will host the Minnesota North Stars in the first round. With 4 days to go in the season, it remains the only 1st round series we know.
