The NFHL Game of the Night

Flyers Take Control

The Philadelphia Flyers control their own destiny in the battle for home ice advantage to start the playoffs.  Tonight, they escaped with a 4-3 win in their latest installment of the Battle of Pennsylvania to hit 91 points on the season and open up a 3 point lead on the Florida Panthers for 4th in the Wales Conference.  Both teams have 3 games left.  The Penguins, with their 2nd straight loss, remain at 86 points, tied with Montreal for 6th in the conference.  However, they have just a single game left this season and will need a lot of help to finish anywhere but 7th and a 1st round match with the #2 seed team, likely the New Jersey Devils.  In the game itself, John LeClair and Rod Brind'Amour each had a goal and assist with Rob Brown and Mats Naslund also scoring goals.  Pat Elynuik and Gary Roberts each had a goal and assist themselves for the Penguins with Jaromir Jagr also scoring.
