The NFHL Game of the Day

Bottom Dwellars Put on a Show!

The Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers have played a combined 30 games with a total of 2 wins, both by the Sabres. This put them 25th and 26th in the league.  Despite their place in the standings, it doesn't mean they can't put on a show.  Tonight, they came within a single goal of the all-time record for combined goals.  Eighteen pucks dented the twine in the most defensively inept showing in league history.  And justly, neither team got the win as they settled on a 9-9 tie. Eric Lecompte scored twice and had 2 assists for the Sabres, with Warren Babe adding a goal and 3 assists and Craig Endean scored two of his own goals.  Curt Fraser, Zdenek Nedved, Randy Johnston and Mark Johnson scored the other Buffalo goals. Niklas Lidstrom had 2 goals and 2 assists for the Rangers, with Bobby Smith adding 4 points. Shawn Anderson, Vyacheslav Kozlov, Alan May, Taylor Hall, Patrik Carnback, and Mick Vukota scored single goals for the Rangers.
