The NFHL Game of the Day

Devils Erupt for First Win

Everyone knew the New Jersey Devils would struggle this season and they are certainly proving the pundits right so far this season.  They lost their first 6 games this season and were the only team in the league without a win going in to tonight's games.  They are no longer alone in that category, though.  Claude Lemieux had 2 goals and 2 assists and Fred Arthur aided the cause with a goal and 3 assists as the Devils crushed the Chicago Blackhawks 8-3.  John MacLean also scored twice with Teemu Selanne, Mikka Makela, and Peter Zezel also scoring for the Devils.  Dana Murzyn had a goal and 2 assists for the Blackhawks and Pat Daley and Lyndon Byers added solo goals.  Chicago now falls to the bottom of the league with their 1-7 record.  Along with New Jersey and Philadelphia, they are the only teams with just one win this season.
