The NFHL Game of the Day

Sabres Get the Boot....er.....Foote

You know if the Buffalo Sabres are headlining there is not good news to come.  But tonight....it is so.  The Sabres lost again tonight, this time getting beat by a defensive defenseman who doesn't even want to play on the team he is on.  Adam Foote refused to sign a contract extension with the Quebec Nordiques this season, announcing that he would be testing the free agent market in the off season, though his rights will still be owned by the Nordiques.  Tonight, however, Foote was doing the owning.  Owning the Sabres.  He scored twice, added 2 assists leading the charge to a 6-4 win.  Claude Lemieux, Joe Sakic and Stephane Richer each had a goal and assist for Quebec and Sergei Nemchinov finished off the scoring. Warren Babe had a goal and 2 assists for Buffalo. David Mackey, Gilbert Delorme and Tom Fitzgerald scored the other Buffalo goals. Their win, along with Florida's loss, jumps them past the Panthers and into 6th in the Wales and within 5 points of 2nd place New Jersey.
