Having a home game in Florida against the Flyers, the fans were treated to a very exciting game, as the hometown Panthers won 5-4 in overtime. While the Philadelphia - Matheson thing has long been gone, and now 2 cities ago, the players knew this was a huge game, as Philly is now pushing their chips in this off-season.

Kurri opened the scoring in the first, but Brindamour was able to tie the game up. The score would be 1-1 after the 1st, even though the Panthers held the shot clock 10-5. The second was more the same. Shaw scored his 2nd on the PP, but Flyers would tie it later in the period to once again even the score. The teams would enter the 3rd tied at 2.

The third period was nothing but pure entertainment from a fans perspective, while the coaches were losing their minds. Defense was optional as the shot clock would end up 16-13 in favor of the Panthers. It was the Flyers striking first though with Goulet and Weinrich putting the Flyers up 4-2 . This Panthers team has shown no quit in the 3rd periods this year at home though, and Brown scored his 3rd with less than 5 minutes left. With 3 minutes left, Kurvers scored his 2nd to tie the game and send it to overtime.

The extra frame would only last a total of 34 seconds, and Dino fired a shot and Messier put home the rebound just 34 seconds into the period. Final score 5-4 Florida Panthers.

Moffat took home the win, moving his record to 4-1 on the season. Special teams were bad as the PK was perfect at 0-3, and 1-5 on the PP with Shaw's goal.

1st star - Michel Goulet - 2 goals and 3 points.

2nd star - Mark Messier - 1 goal, 2 points +1 on 3 shots

3rd star - Dino Ciccarelli - 2 assists on 5 shots.

The farm team keeps firing mostly on all cylinders. Tonight they beat Timmins 8-1. Markkanen took home the win, while Tuzzolino scored a hat-trick.
