PANTHERS TAKE HOLD OF SERIES, WIN BOTH GAMES IN PITTSBURGH

After giving up the first game of the series, the Florida Panthers have run off 3 straight wins after tonight's 3-2 victory in Pittsburgh. While the PP has been the key to the previous 2 wins, tonight it was the 5x5 depth that came through, and once again Patrick Roy.

The first period was blanks as neither team really took any momentum and they just felt each other out. Somewhat odd being game 4. The second would see Hawerchuk score his 2nd of the postseason T THE 8 minute mark. That would hold until the 15 minute mark when Pitt would tie the game.

Both teams headed into the 3rd period tied at 1.

Florida came out flying and took it to the Pens, but Burke was able to turn most aside until 10:44 when Mark Recchi scored his 3rd. However less than 2 minutes later, Amonte scored and once again the game was tied. The place was rocking but before they could sit down, less than 2 minutes later, Adam Creighton scored his 1st of the season at 14:19. From there, Roy held the Pens in check and the Panthers held on for the win 3-2.

Special Teams was even as the PP went 0-2, but the PK was perfect in 4 tries against.

Patrick Roy, while not tested a bunch made 20 saves on 22 shots for the win.

1st Star - Adam Creighton - 1 goal, 2 points, +2, 2 shots, 2 hits, 8 TOI

2nd Star - Stephane Richer - 1 assist, +1, 6 shots, 3 hits

3rd Star - Mark Recchi - 1 goal, +1, 4 shots

Up next will be game 5 back in Florida. The coach needs to get some of the offense going as Thomas sits on 0 points, and Messier has but 1 assist. In a possible close out game, will their 2 offensive stars come to play?
