Trio Traded

Game number 40 just passed for Anaheim, so that meant some off-season free agent signings could be traded. It seems bittersweet for the Ducks, who had hopes of playing a lot better this season, but at least these vets will likely have a chance to play some meaningful games. Two players will be joining the same team already in a playoff spot, and one player will try and help a team that's on the cusp.

Forwards Mike Krushelnski and Brian Propp were traded to the opposite coast in Florida. Propp was traded for three long-shot prospects that helped fill out the minor league roster and give the Panthers some much-needed roster space. Longtime Sabres captain Mike Krushelnski was traded for former Duck Dave Mackey. The trade helps Anaheim with a little more salary relief and gives Florida solid experience and leadership for a team looking to make a long run in the playoffs.

The final player traded in this trio was gritty vet Dale Hunter.  The hard-hitting Hunter will look to help out north of the border in Quebec reach their goal of making the playoffs. Hunter was moved out for some cash considerations that will definitely help out the Ducks bottom line.

With Krushelnski, Propp, and Hunter traded, the Ducks will now look to trade Tkachuk, Wickenheiser, and Shtepa. These players can definitely help out playoff teams looking for some added depth. The basement-dwelling Ducks really have no need to hold on to these players, with the exception of Tkachuk, who is signed on for next season as well. Stay tuned as the trade deadline approaches.
